Ship notes
Power Windows

Check your power window before shipment arrives so install, commissioning, and operator training can happen without supply surprises.
This problem repeats itself in machine sourcing. On South African production floors it often starts before lunch: voltage left unconfirmed, a loose email subject, or shipping booked before anyone checked the full packed measurements. Power Windows is our note for teams that want installations to start properly.
Power windows on a CNC or laser order start with the incoming electrical supply, not the crate. We use this note to pin down voltage, phase, breaker sizing and cable runs before delivery reaches Gauteng, KZN or the Western Cape.
Incoming supply checks before dispatch
- Voltage and phase confirmed on site
- Main DB photo with breaker ratings
- Machine load data matched to site supply
- Client contact names the exact installation address
Read this note alongside the machine page and the shipping record. The machine page tells you what the unit needs, while Power Windows shows what the building must provide before commissioning begins. Together they reduce avoidable stoppages on delivery day.
How Power Windows shape a laser cutter load plan
Before your shipment arrives, confirm the site can supply the machine within the correct power range. Power Windows cover the checks that matter before installation, commissioning and operator training start on your South African floor.
Start with the machine nameplate and the building supply, then compare them line by line. A laser cutter, chiller, extractor and compressor can each add to the final electrical demand, especially on older South African industrial sites. Johannesburg workshops often have usable three phase on paper but poor distribution at the intended bay.
Take photos of the isolator position, cable route and spare capacity in the board before the shipment lands. Those images help the installer see whether the planned machine position will need a longer run, trunking, or a different breaker arrangement. One clear record is more useful than a memory after unloading starts.
Records to keep with the install file
Keep one set of notes showing site voltage, available phase, breaker size, earthing point and the machine's stated requirement. That file should also show any extras such as a stabiliser, transformer or dedicated feed if they are part of the plan. Clear electrical records matter far more than a long email chain when handover starts.
Link Power Windows with the relevant routes note and one ship note entry before adding optional equipment. Before the machine departs China, ask for the final power specification for the exact model, including accessories that raise total load. Sourcing requests should cover the machine type, the controller you prefer and the port or town it must reach.
- Matched to the actual site supply
- Board and cable route photographed early
- Questions logged against the machine file
Electrical conditions we check in South Africa
Older factories can have three phase at the property but not enough capacity where the machine will stand. We check distance from the main board, access for cable trays, room for an isolator, and whether other equipment shares the same feed. Durban and Cape Town sites also need attention to moisture, corrosion and enclosure protection around electrical points.
Supply interruptions change how first tests should be planned and recorded. Voltage fluctuation can affect servo alarms, laser source start-up and chiller stability, particularly where other heavy equipment cycles on the same line. Inland dust and coastal air then shape how often cabinets, filters and terminals should be inspected after handover.

Power Windows notes for this shipment
Check your power window before shipment arrives so install, commissioning, and operator training can happen without supply surprises.
Write the commissioning power readings down while the installer is still at site and the meter values are visible. Add that sheet to the project summary with the machine manual, electrical drawing and accessories list. It gives the buyer a usable record if settings need to be checked after installation.
